Why dig Trenches when there are better solutions

India’s subsurface utility networks—particularly in major metropolitan cities—were laid several decades ago and are now facing serious challenges due to ageing, overloading, and inadequate documentation. Today, repair and maintenance of underground pipelines largely follow a reactive approach, where action is taken only after failures or emergencies occur. It is time to move decisively towards a proactive, preventive, and sustainable asset management strategy.
Failures in water and sewerage distribution systems lead to leakages, high Non-Revenue Water (NRW), groundwater contamination, and in extreme cases, road cave-ins and surface infrastructure collapse. In oil and gas distribution networks, such failures can result in serious safety hazards, accidents, environmental damage, and substantial economic losses, including penalties and loss of valuable commodities.
Decisions related to repair, rehabilitation, or replacement of underground utilities are critically dependent on their existing condition, highlighting the growing importance of Pipeline Condition Assessment and integrity management.
The need of the hour is to adopt appropriate pipeline inspection and condition assessment technologies, followed by scientifically designed rehabilitation solutions, to ensure long-term performance of subsurface utility infrastructure. Beyond rehabilitation, new installations and expanding urban connectivity demand reforms in existing policies, standards, and guidelines. These reforms are also essential to reduce the unfortunate and rising fatalities among sewer workers, which continue due to unsafe manual entry practices.
To address these challenges and to present multiple alternatives for Subsurface Pipeline Integrity Management, the Indian Society for Trenchless Technology (IndSTT) is organizing the 16th edition of the No-Dig India Show 2026, scheduled for 11–12 December 2026 at the NSIC Exhibition Complex, Okhla Industrial Estate Phase III, New Delhi, India.
No-Dig India Show 2026 will serve as a convergence platform for industry professionals, technology providers, utility owners, consultants, contractors, researchers, and policy-makers. The event will feature discussions, deliberations, and live showcases of advanced trenchless technologies, products, best practices, and global case studies that will help shape the future policy framework and technical guidelines for India’s trenchless industry.
IndSTT invites global experts, technology innovators, equipment manufacturers, and utility stakeholders from India and abroad to join this collaborative platform and contribute to building a safe, resilient, and sustainable underground infrastructure for the nation.
Lets us come together to build the future of underground infrastructure -----smartly, sfely, and sustainbaly.
